Hunan Cafe 2 Reviews
We love going to Hunan Cafe 2 when we want take out! We often get the chicken fried rice, orange chicken, dry fried strings beans, and the walnut shrimp.
Delicious Chinese food very fast and affordable. I will definitely be back again. The service was very fast and the ambience was very nice as well.
I'm pretty sure the lady that works at front is the nicest human in the whole world. So friendly, so welcoming. The food is unbelievably fresh, not heavy at all. Super tasty, 100% the best Chinese place around.
I popped in tonight for a quick takeout bite before I went to the beach. Super fast, the lady that ran the front was very nice and chatty! Not much in terms of ambiance for the space, it was efficient and clean. The food was pretty good so I'll go back for sure.
Lilly is amazing and her food is our go to for takeout!! We have been coming here for 6 years. We discovered Hunan Cafe 2 or Lily's place as we call it when I was pregnant with my first son and was trying to eat a ton of spicy Chinese food and get the baby out. Now 3.5 kids later and we still go get food from Lily as often as we can. She always asks about our family and Santa's home with extra fortune cookies for the kids. Now on to the food- we love almost everything here but the Chicken Chow Mein, green onion pancakes, soups, and Honey Walnut Shrimp, and broccoli beef stand out as some of the best Chinese food we have ever had. It's seriously where we go when we need comforting food, have an anniversary, or for any other reason that we can think of. The prices are super great as well.
Recently came by to do a takeout. No dine in option right now. Lots of veggies in our shrimp and black bean sauce, lots of fresh sugar snap peas in our Westlake mince beef soup. First time seeing Westlake beef soup cooked that way. The ma po tofu has a good spicy kick! Ambiance and Service: Very neighborhood hole-in-the-wall mom and pop place with kind and friendly service. And yes, they are close to the beach!
Consistently excellent. Fresh food, great portions and priced right. We love ordering take away since the ambiance inside is a bit lacking. It more than makes up for it in taste. Our go-to orders are fried rice, chicken and broccoli, cheese wontons, kung pao and chow mein. YUM Keep supporting this small neighborhood business! Your tummy will be happier for it!
Great little mom and pop restaurant serving Chinese food. Located on 46th and Cabrillo, they are close to the ocean beach. Fast service, super friendly, and good sized portions! The food taste very fresh, and was very reasonable in cost!. Each item was packed very carefully in its own plastic bag, retaining the heat and avoiding spillage. I really love the kung pao chicken.
Located in an idyllic neighborhood close to both the beach and Golden Gate Park, Hunan Cafe 2 is a little restaurant run by a husband-and-wife duo and is the perfect place to pick up takeout for a good deal. I cannot recommend the dry braised green beans enough -- I think I can eat three servings of these in a single sitting. They're perfectly seasoned and crunchy, and they were a huge hit among my friend group. The hot garlic sauce chicken wings were also fantastic. This restaurant does not skimp on the sauce! The other Yelp reviews were 100% right in that this cafe packs your takeout containers to the brim with food. Our four entrees came out to about $42 -- and it's honestly pretty hard to find such a good deal on food in the city these days. The owner was also so sweet and personable, and we learned that she's been running this restaurant for the past 17 years!

I was hoping to eat there, but it's take our only. The woman who helped me was so nice, wonderful customer service. The food was amazing, cooked hot and fresh. I highly recommend the egg foo young & egg drop soup. I will defiantly be returning. They included plastic silverware & bio-degradable ( ) bowls so I didn't have any dirty dishes.
